How to Make Serendipity Work for You

When you join the Entrepreneur’s Quantum Mastermind, you’ll learn how to be predictably lucky. Yes, you read that right—being lucky is a skill you can cultivate! We’ll dive into a curriculum to align your energy with optimism, possibility and success. And we’ll apply the concepts in strategy workshops to shape your business.

Research in social science shows that serendipity is not just a random occurrence. It’s the result of specific behaviors. Adopt “lucky” behaviors, and within a few weeks, you’ll start to see new opportunities as your new normal. In our mastermind, we actively work to step out of our ruts and break free from old patterns of thinking. We experiment with behaviors like curiosity, openness, resilience, intuition, and playfulness—all of which help us attract luck.

I was always intrigued by my uncle, a maverick entrepreneur, who would tell me that his secret to success was simple: “I’m lucky.” It wasn’t until later that I understood what he meant. Disappointments didn’t derail him—they sparked his creativity. Failures weren’t setbacks—they were opportunities to find silver linings. And through it all, a wry smile was his constant companion. His mindset fascinated me, and I began to see luck not as a fluke, but as an approach to life.

But how important is luck, really?

It turns out, incredibly important. In fact, you can’t be truly successful without it.

In 2022, three mathematicians and physicists won the IG Nobel Prize in Economics for proving something we all know intuitively: luck is a crucial factor in success. Talent alone isn’t enough. To reach the highest levels of achievement, the optimal combination is actually moderate talent and magnificent luck. Want to dig into the research? Check it out here.

I’ve found that adopting “lucky” behaviors is a high-speed onramp to a spiritual and professional uplevel. There’s a cycle at play in how we interact with the world: our beliefs shape our thoughts, our thoughts influence our behaviors, our behaviors generate our feelings, and our feelings reinforce our beliefs.

One way to disrupt and elevate this cycle is through meditation. It interrupts the flow of thoughts and helps shift your actions, feelings, and beliefs in a more aligned direction. But you don’t need to meditate to shift this cycle. Learning to act as though you’re “lucky”—taking deliberate, inspired actions—can hack the process. When you change your behavior and engage differently with your environment, you open yourself up to more fortunate coincidences. As these lucky events show up, your sense of possibility grows, and your beliefs begin to shift, too. Trying on “lucky” behaviors accelerates the whole cycle.

Now think about the people you know who’ve had breakout success. Chances are, they have certain “lucky” traits in addition to their talent. They take risks, they remain open to opportunities, and they bounce back from failure with even more energy.

I know you’ve invested countless hours honing your talent—but what about your luck?

What could life—and your business—look like if opportunities started flowing to you more easily?
