Give yourself a strategic edge.
Inspired action isn’t about force or willpower—it’s the “next right step” that flows from clarity, excitement, and inner knowing. When you act on that spark, momentum builds, doors open, and what feels like luck becomes part of your everyday experience.
Inspired Action: Action in Alignment
Inspired action is different from “just doing it.” It’s driven by intuition, not pressure. Instead of pushing yourself—thinking, “I have to hit this deadline”—you follow a pull: a hunch, a flash of insight, or a flutter in your belly that says, “Yes, this.”
You can tell when you’re experiencing a moment of inner knowing: it’s that flash of creative insight, a sense of clarity, or an irresistible urge to move. You feel excitement, curiosity, or a deep, resounding sense of “this is right.” Your mood lightens. You’re not clouded by doubt; instead, you feel confident that the path will unfold as you take each step. And with each intuitive nudge, synchronicities start to emerge—an email arrives, a helpful contact appears, or obstacles dissolve.
The Energy of Waiting
I see so many people stuck in what I call the Energy of Waiting. They receive a clear intuitive nudge but don’t act on it. Instead, they start thinking, “That’s a great idea. How can I shape this into a plan?” So, they begin building a plan around that inspiration, but without the same spark of internal knowingness. Days, weeks, even months pass. The initial inspiration fades, and potential insights from taking immediate action are lost.
The Energy of Waiting is like a limbo zone. You’re not acting; you’re just planning and thinking about acting. It feels safe in this zone, but it’s also a trap. When faced with stepping outside our comfort zone, we often start planning as a ruse to help us feel confident and in control. And then we get stuck because we’re no longer in creative flow.
Quicken Your Momentum Response Time (MRT)
Try moving quickly from inspiration to action, even in small ways. This is like how an elite athlete trains to perform instantaneous micro-movements that win the gold.
The time between the spark of inspiration and taking action is what I call Momentum Response Time (MRT)—the time between feeling inspired and taking your first concrete step.
To see more synchronicities in your life, shorten your MRT. The faster you act, the more you preserve the energy of the idea. Ideas are perishable; the quicker you move, the less likely they are to get crowded out by other tasks. When you practice rapid follow-through, you strengthen your instinct to act, and you get faster feedback that informs your intuition.
Cultivate Inspired Action
Curious about stepping into inspired action? Start by quieting the mind. Practices like meditation and journaling help you tune out the noise and tune into your inner guidance. As you develop this inner dialogue, ask open-ended questions like, “What feels most alive to me right now?” or “If I were already wildly successful, what would I do next?”
Notice the small impulses, like a sudden urge to send a message, take a walk, or follow up on an idea. That’s often your intuition in action. Get to know it by launching low-stakes experiments.
