The Silent Spiral of Stagnation (And How to Escape It)

Last week, we explored MRT—Momentum Response Time—and how shortening the gap between inspiration and action can change the game. Read Spark to Start: Crush Your MRT here. This week, I want to zoom in on a more subtle player: the Energy of Waiting.

Waiting is often disguised as patience, prudence, or even strategy. But what if it’s really just a familiar hiding place for fear? A vibrational no-man’s-land where dreams go to quietly decay?

I started thinking about this after studying the emotional guidance scale from Abraham Hicks—the spiral you see here. It shows how different emotions carry distinct frequencies and directional momentum. Joy, love, and passion form the upward spiral, propelling us toward freedom and fulfillment. On the flip side, insecurity, guilt, and powerlessness drag us downwards.

But something struck me as I stared at the image: where is our energetic neutral point? I’d put the Energy of Waiting between contentment and boredom, and more trending towards boredom.

Boredom Isn’t Neutral. It’s the Gateway to the Downward Spiral.
We often assume that being “neutral” is harmless. But if your emotional set point hovers in that gray area of boredom, mild frustration, or low-grade worry, you’re not standing still—you’re slipping. That’s because vibration isn’t static. Energy either climbs or declines. And when our “neutral” vibrates closer to resignation than to joy, it’s only a matter of time before things in our external world begin to mirror that downward trend.

Resignation becomes a lifestyle. Passion fades. Dreams stall. And then we wonder, Why isn’t anything changing?

The Energy of Waiting Is a Lie.
Waiting feels safe, but energetically, it’s a kind of paralysis. It’s a state that subtly tells the universe: I don’t trust. I don’t trust myself. I don’t trust timing. I don’t trust the next step to appear until it’s been vetted by logic and overanalysis.

But here’s the thing: your life isn’t built from logic. It’s built from energy. And energy responds to your dominant vibration—not your plans, not your spreadsheets, not your credentials. Just the frequency you’re most often dialed into.

So if your dominant state is passive, skeptical, or mildly discontented, your reality will reflect that.

What If You Raised Your Neutral?
This is where the magic begins. What if you redefined your emotional baseline? What if your neutral wasn’t boredom—but contentment? What if, instead of living in “wait and see,” you practiced “feel and move”?

Cultivating a new neutral doesn’t require a massive overhaul. It might look like:

  • Reaching for a better-feeling thought in the moment
  • Choosing appreciation over cynicism
  • Doing one small thing today that makes you feel alive
  • Trusting the flutter of excitement enough to follow it—before the doubt kicks in

Just like MRT teaches us to act from inspiration, raising your neutral teaches you to live in alignment. It’s a recalibration from within that changes the trajectory of your entire spiral.

Energy Builds Reality. And You Are the Generator.
So here’s your invitation: move out of waiting. Waiting isn’t neutral. It’s a slow drift into energetic limbo. Instead, choose upward. Nudge your neutral. Find the glimmer. Let contentment be your new baseline. Then ride the spiral from there.

Because when your energy shifts, so does your world.
